Kids in the Game Partners with Impact Coaching Network to Provide Chess at Summer Camp

Kids in the Game is excited to partner with Impact Coaching Network for the second year in a row to offer a chess track at two of our summer camp locations, the East Village and Park Slope in Brooklyn. Impact Coaching Network offers a unique team-first training approach dedicated to building vibrant inclusive chess communities and delivering measurable chess success. We are super excited about this partnership and the opportunities it will provide in expanding our summer programming! 

Impact Coaching Network’s unique team-first camp training approach is dedicated to building and preparing players for city, state, and national competitions. The chess piece of camp will be run by ICN coaches and includes small group work, rated game play, pointed lectures, and plenty of summer camp fun! Players will be grouped according to their individual needs allowing for maximum growth and enjoyment. ICN campers will also have the opportunity to take place in daily sports & games, theme weeks, optional swimming lessons, and outdoor activities! 

Daily Schedule: 

  • 9:00 Drop-off
  • 9:00 – 9:30 Gather & Social Play
  • 9:30 – 11:30 Team Groupings, Lessons & Rated Games
  • 11:30 – 1:00 Lunch, Yard Play/Gym Play, Social Chess Play, Individual Coaching Opportunities.
  • 1:00 – 3:00 2nd Instructional Lesson and Serious Matches
  • 3:00 – 4:00 Snack, Yard Play/Gym Play, Social Chess Play
  • 4:00 – 4:30 Pick-up
  • 4:30 – 6:00 After Care (Campers can stay from 4:30-6pm for an additional $100/week)

ICN just recently won 25% of all team awards at the 2021 New York State Elementary Chess Championship! With 135 players representing 30 overall sectional teams – the 2021 Impact Coaching Network State Championship contingent was the largest in the program’s history.
