At Riverdale Neighborhood House, Kids in the Game utilizes the gym, outside basketball courts, the playground area, an on site pool, baseball fields, and Vinmont Park.

Kids in the Game and Physique Swimming are partnering to offer a swim and sports camp at Riverdale Neighborhood House! This camp will include swim instruction 5-days a week for campers and a variety of sports offerings to keep campers active and engaged with plenty of summer fun!

Learn to Swim
Swimmers will be introduced to the fundamentals of aquatics through a focus on properly mastering primary skills (floating, gliding, rolling over, front crawl, breath control). Swimmers will work towards independent front and back floats, rolling over from front to back and submersions without support. Swimmers will develop combined strokes on front and back and are introduced to deep water through jumps and dives from a sitting position, with an ultimate goal to complete 1 length of the pool independently.

Stroke Clinic
Swimmers have completed the learn to swim levels and can swim fully unsupported for 1 length of the pool. In this class swimmers will develop: breathing coordination, arm & leg coordination, treading water, and changing directions underwater. Swimmers are introduced to the technical fundamentals of backstroke and freestyle with rotary breathing, the rudiments of breaststroke and butterfly, as well as starts and standing dives with an end goal of lap swimming.

If you register for camp and would like to cancel certain weeks, you can do so before June 15th. This will be a full refund, minus the $100 deposit per week registered for. There will be no refunds or credits granted after June 15th.
We'll begin sending updated camp balances after you register. We ask that families take care of the balance before coming to camp on the first day. For families that need flexibility to pay week to week, please reach out to us directly to set up a payment plan.
In order to enroll, you'll need to fill out our registration form on the website, putting down the deposit for camp. Leading up to camp, we'll also ask you to complete some paperwork (trip consent, pick up the waiver, and health form) to make sure that your camper is ready to go for the summer!
Families are responsible for bringing snack and lunch each day! We are a nut-free camp (due to many campers having peanut allergies) so please do not bring any nut sandwiches! Soy nut butter is okay. All lunches are required to be refrigerated each day
Please bring the Epi-pen with you to camp, clearly labeling it. Speak to the camp directors about the specific allergies so that we are able to educate their specific counselors. In the case of an emergency, our team would assist with the Epi-pen.
Each campsite has a Health Director. In addition, a majority of our staff is First Aid, AED, and CPR certified. We also have an RN on call during camp in case we need to consult further. We'll also be in touch with families immediately in case there is a medical condition we need to address.
The essentials: Lunch, Snack, Sunscreen, Bugspray, and a Water Bottle. Next up: Change of clothes, swimsuit, KING t-shirt for trip days.
Our camp is an active day! Campers should wear sneakers that they can be outside in and clothes that they can play games in. Younger campers are encouraged to bring an extra set of clothes to camp to leave for the summer.
We do not allow parents to be on site throughout the camp day. Campers get distracted easily and we want to ensure they're getting the most out of their experience with us! Camp Directors will keep you updated on the week's schedule and any special theme days your children can participate in.
You can email us at or call our office at (212)634-7262.
Our campers range from 3.5 up to 13 years old. The campers are broken up into groups based on the grade they are entering. For example, the 5-year-olds, named 'Gummies', will spend the day with others their age, and not be with the 12-year-olds, which we call the 'Blue Jays'.
Not a problem! You can let the camp directors know at the desk that morning and we'll make sure your camper is back at the school ready for pickup.
The camp day starts at 9am, although early drop off starts as early as 8:00am for working parents. The camp will go until 4pm. Families can pick up anytime between 4 and 4:30pm. If your family needs after-care post 4:30pm, you can sign up for our after-care program that runs until 6pm.
