What we do is driven by who we are. We are a team of trained athletes, seasoned coaches, aspiring teachers, performing artists, camp enthusiasts, and above all, dedicated youth development workers. We share a common goal to provide positive experiences and opportunities through sports and creative play.
Every year, Kids in the Game programs can be found in over 50 schools across New York City, serving thousands of children. We’ve helped school communities change the way that children play through our recess, physical education, after-school, and enrichment programs, along with our signature sports teams and day camps.
Every day is an opportunity for us to make a lasting impact on the lives of NYC youth. We inspire kids to embrace new experiences, adopt a healthy lifestyle, and build integrity.
We also want our kids to develop the social and life skills they need to navigate young adulthood, make good choices, and become successful adults.
Being a part of our team means sharing in our commitment to our company values. Our values guide how we act and support each other, and they help to ensure that we are positively impacting the lives of children in the ways that we want. As the driving force behind everything we do, our values help us create an environment where we feel respected, valued, and connected to our work.
We’re building a culture where what makes us different is also what makes us stronger. Our team members come from across the country and from all cultural, socio-economic, and professional backgrounds. We work closely with social impact and non-profit organizations to recruit chronically discriminated against or low-income groups, and improve their access to high-quality employment.
We celebrate the unique experiences, perspectives, and passions that each team member brings with them, and we encourage each other to be our authentic selves. We are proud to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment where our staff feel connected to our work, to our city, and to each other.
Black Lives Matter. As a provider of sport-based youth programs, one of our core values is to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for our youth and coaches. We are committed to making intentional changes to call out racism, end discriminatory practices, and promote equality and fair treatment in our organization. We are reaffirming this commitment through our pledge to advancing our diversity, equity, and inclusion work. This is only the first step in our journey. We’re just getting started.
We care about the social impact of our work on our employees, communities, and children. We are part of a global community of over 3,000 companies dedicated to promoting ethical, responsible, and sustainable business practices.
We partner with social impact organizations and institutions to provide meaningful professional development and educational opportunities for our coaches who want to be part of our work. We offer internships, fellowships, and service programs that allow youth ages 16+ the chance to gain valuable work experience, receive stipends, and/or earn college credits.
Our partners include:
Up2Us Sports AmeriCorps Program

Over 30 former members now work with our organization as coaches and leadership staff.
Adelphi University Sport-Based Youth Development Fellowship
We offer a two-year fellowship for students enrolled in Adelphi University’s Physical Education or Sport Management master’s program with a specialization in sport-based youth development. Fellows lead recess and after school classes, working closely with children of all ages to gain professional experience. We also provide our fellows with access to our training program and opportunities to contribute to key organizational initiatives.
DYCD Summer Youth Employment Program
We provide summer internships for NYC youth ages 16-24 through the DYCD Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). SYEP interns work alongside our coaches and have access to our training program and 1:1 coaching from our camp leadership to develop stronger professional skills.
We employ over 100 staff every year to lead our sports and enrichment programs, and summer camps. We recruit all year long to bring the most talented coaches and youth workers into our network.
Our full-time staff work hard behind the scenes to bring our programs to life. We foster a playful and productive work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and personal growth.
Our internships can help you find the right career path while gaining practical experience. We offer internships for high school and college students, recent grads, and professionals looking to transition into new careers.
